Asterisk@Home up to 2.7 includes/main.conf information disclosure

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Asterisk Recording Interface (ARI) in Asterisk@Home before 2.8 stores recordings/includes/main.conf under the web document root with insufficient access control, which allows remote attackers to obtain password information.

The weakness was presented 04/20/2006 by Francois Harvey (Website). The advisory is shared at securiweb.net. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-2020 since 04/25/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.

After before and not just, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 21303 (Asterisk Recording Interface (ARI) includes/main.conf Remote Credential Disclosure), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses.

Upgrading to version 2.8 eliminates this vulnerability. It is possible to mitigate the problem by adding an authentication mechanism. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be adding authentication.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (25993), Exploit-DB (27716), Tenable (21303), SecurityFocus (BID 17641†) and OSVDB (24805†). See VDB-29894 for similar entry. If you want to get the best quality for vulnerability data then you always have to consider VulDB.
