Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Siemens SCALANCE LPE9403 up to 3.x. This issue affects an unknown code. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
A vulnerability has been identified in SCALANCE LPE9403 (6GK5998-3GS00-2AC2) (All versions < V4.0). Affected devices do not properly neutralize special characters when interpreting user controlled log paths. This could allow an authenticated highly-privileged remote attacker to execute a limited set of binaries that are already present on the filesystem.
