MadWifi before 0.9.3 does not properly handle reception of an AUTH frame by an IBSS node, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (system crash) via a certain AUTH frame.

The bug was discovered 09/14/2006. The weakness was shared 04/02/2007 by kurth (Website). The advisory is available at madwifi.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-7178 since 03/29/2007.
