A vulnerability was found in Ezb Systems UltraISO 8.0.0.1392. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown functionality. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in UltraISO 8.0.0.1392 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in a filename in an ISO image.
The weakness was shared 04/29/2006 by Sowhat with Nevis Labs (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-2099 since 04/29/2006.
