A vulnerability has been found in JSBoard 2.0.7/2.0.8/2.0.9/2.0.10/2.0.11 (Forum Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function parse_query_str of the file login.php. The manipulation of the argument table with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the parse_query_str function in include/print.php in JSBoard 2.0.10 and 2.0.11, and possibly other versions before 2.0.12, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via parameters that are set as global variables within the program, as demonstrated using the table parameter to login.php.
The weakness was released 05/01/2006 by Alexander Klink (Website). The advisory is shared at klink.name. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-2109 since 05/01/2006. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
