Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in OpenSlides up to 4.2.4. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the file /system/auth/login/. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a timing discrepancy vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-208. Two separate operations in a product require different amounts of time to complete, in a way that is observable to an actor and reveals security-relevant information about the state of the product, such as whether a particular operation was successful or not. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
An issue was discovered in OpenSlides before 4.2.5. During login at the /system/auth/login/ endpoint, the system's response times differ depending on whether a user exists in the system. The timing discrepancy stems from the omitted hashing of the password (e.g., more than 100 milliseconds).
