SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS before 5.4.0 uses insecure world-writable permissions for (1) the server pid file, which allows local users to cause arbitrary processes to be stopped, or (2) when _BPX_BATCH_UMASK is missing from the environment, creates HFS files with insecure permissions, which allows local users to read or modify these files and have other unknown impact.

The bug was discovered 04/16/2007. The weakness was published 04/16/2007 with SSH Team (Website). The advisory is shared for download at ssh.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-2063 since 04/17/2007. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
