A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Easy-Content Forums 1.0 (Forum Software). This affects an unknown function of the file userview.asp. The manipulation of the argument catid with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Easy-Content Forums 1.0 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) startletter parameter in userview.asp and the (2) catid parameter in topics.asp.
