Details
A vulnerability was found in PgBouncer up to 1.24.0. It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function auth_query. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a key expiration date vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-324. The product uses a cryptographic key or password past its expiration date, which diminishes its safety significantly by increasing the timing window for cracking attacks against that key. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Password can be used past expiry in PgBouncer due to auth_query not taking into account Postgres its VALID UNTIL value, which allows an attacker to log in with an already expired password
