Details
A vulnerability was found in pppBLOG 0.3.8. It has been classified as problematic. Affected is an unknown code block of the file randompic.php. The manipulation of the argument array with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
Directory traversal vulnerability in randompic.php in pppBLOG 0.3.8 and earlier, when register_globals is enabled, allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) sequence in an index of the "file" array parameter, as demonstrated by file[0].
