A vulnerability has been found in Webspot Webspotblogging 3.0/3.0.1 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file inc/logincheck.inc.php of the component Logging. PHP remote file inclusion vulnerability in Webspotblogging 3.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the path parameter to (1) inc/logincheck.inc.php, (2) inc/adminheader.inc.php, (3) inc/global.php, or (4) inc/mainheader.inc.php. NOTE: some of these vectors were also reported for 3.0 in a separate disclosure.
The weakness was released 06/03/2006 by Kacper (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-2860 since 06/06/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.
A public exploit has been developed by Kacper and been published before and not just after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:inc/logincheck.inc.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
