A vulnerability has been found in Snitz Forums 2000 up to 3.4.05 (Forum Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file inc_header.asp. The manipulation of the argument %strCookieURL%GROUP with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in inc_header.asp in Snitz Forum 3.4.05 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the %strCookieURL%.GROUP parameter in a cookie.
The weakness was presented 06/12/2006 by FarhadKey (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-2959 since 06/12/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
