A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in PBL Guestbook 1.31. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file pblguestbook.php. The manipulation of the argument website with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in pblguestbook.php in PBL Guestbook 1.31 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via javascript in the SRC attribute of IMG tags in the (1) name, (2) email, and (3) website parameter, which bypasses XSS protection mechanisms that check for SCRIPT tags but not IMG. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
