A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Codewalkers Ltwcalendar 4.1.3 (Calendar Software). Affected by this issue is the function include of the file calendar.php. The manipulation of the argument ltw_config[include_dir with an unknown input leads to a file inclusion vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-73. ** DISPUTED ** PHP remote file inclusion vulnerability in Ltwcalendar/calendar.php in Codewalkers Ltwcalendar 4.1.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the ltw_config[include_dir] parameter. NOTE: CVE disputes this claim, since the $ltw_config[include_dir] variable is defined as a static value in an include file before it is referenced in an include() statement.
The weakness was released 06/13/2006 by SpC-x as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-3041 since 06/15/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
The real existence of this vulnerability is still doubted at the moment. By approaching the search of inurl:calendar.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
Upgrading to version 4.1.3 eliminates this vulnerability.
