A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in WordPress 2.x (Content Management System). This issue affects some unknown functionality of the file header.php of the component Redoable Theme. The manipulation of the argument s with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Redoable 1.2 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the s parameter to (1) wp-content/themes/redoable/searchloop.php or (2) wp-content/themes/redoable/header.php.
The weakness was shared 05/18/2007 by John Martinelli (Website). The advisory is shared at redlevel.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-2757 since 05/18/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
