A vulnerability was found in CMS Faethon 1.3.2 (Content Management System) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file data/footer.php. The manipulation of the argument mainpath with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in CMS Faethon 1.3.2 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the mainpath parameter to (1) data/footer.php and (2) admin/header.php. NOTE: the provenance of this information is unknown; the details are obtained from third party information.
The weakness was released 06/16/2006 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at advisories.echo.or.id. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-3186 since 06/22/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
