Summary
A vulnerability described as critical has been identified in Linux Kernel up to 6.15-rc4. This impacts an unknown function of the component net_sched. Such manipulation leads to memory corruption. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2025-37914. No exploit exists. Upgrading the affected component is recommended.
Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.15-rc4. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the component net_sched. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net_sched: ets: Fix double list add in class with netem as child qdisc As described in Gerrard's report [1], there are use cases where a netem child qdisc will make the parent qdisc's enqueue callback reentrant. In the case of ets, there won't be a UAF, but the code will add the same classifier to the list twice, which will cause memory corruption. In addition to checking for qlen being zero, this patch checks whether the class was already added to the active_list (cl_is_active) before doing the addition to cater for the reentrant case.
