Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) by setting the Filter property of an ADODB.Recordset ActiveX object to certain values multiple times, which triggers a null dereference.
The issue has been introduced in 03/22/2001. The weakness was released 07/01/2006 by H D Moore (Website). The advisory is shared for download at browserfun.blogspot.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-3354 since 07/05/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
