Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) by declaring the sourceURL attribute on an uninitialized DirectAnimation.StructuredGraphicsControl ActiveX Object, which triggers a null dereference.
The issue has been introduced in 08/27/2001. The weakness was shared 07/05/2006 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-3427 since 07/06/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
