A vulnerability has been found in jupo mezzanine up to 6.1.0 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the file /admin/displayable_links.js of the component Admin Interface. Mezzanine CMS, in versions prior to 6.1.1, contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the admin interface. The vulnerability exists in the "displayable_links_js" function, which fails to properly sanitize blog post titles before including them in JSON responses served via "/admin/displayable_links.js". An authenticated admin user can create a blog post with a malicious JavaScript payload in the title field, then trick another admin user into clicking a direct link to the "/admin/displayable_links.js" endpoint, causing the malicious script to execute in their browser.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2025-6050 since 06/13/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploitation requires an enhanced level of successful authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Upgrading to version 6.1.1 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 898630d8df48cf3ddb8b9942f59168b93216e3f8 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
