NOTE: a third party has disputed this issue, stating that the crash does not occur with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta3.

The issue has been introduced in 07/27/2005. The weakness was disclosed 07/12/2006 by Mr.Niega as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-3545 since 07/12/2006. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
