This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2022-50127. There is no exploit available.
Upgrading the affected component is advised.
Details
A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 5.19.1 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function rxe_create_qp of the component RDMA. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a initialization vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-665. The product does not initialize or incorrectly initializes a resource, which might leave the resource in an unexpected state when it is accessed or used. The impact remains unknown. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Fix error unwind in rxe_create_qp() In the function rxe_create_qp(), rxe_qp_from_init() is called to initialize qp, internally things like the spin locks are not setup until rxe_qp_init_req(). If an error occures before this point then the unwind will call rxe_cleanup() and eventually to rxe_qp_do_cleanup()/rxe_cleanup_task() which will oops when trying to access the uninitialized spinlock. Move the spinlock initializations earlier before any failures.
The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2022-50127 since 06/18/2025. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 264665 (SUSE SLES12 Security Update : kernel (SUSE-SU-2025:03204-1)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
Upgrading to version 4.14.291, 4.19.256, 5.4.211, 5.10.137, 5.15.61, 5.18.18 or 5.19.2 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 3c838ca6fbdb173102780d7bdf18f2f7d9e30979/1a63f24e724f677db1ab21251f4d0011ae0bb5b5/b348e204a53103f51070513a7494da7c62ecbdaa/3ef491b26c720a87fcfbd78b7dc8eb83d9753fe6/2ceeb04252e621c0b128ecc8fedbca922d11adba/db924bd8484c76558a4ac4c4b5aeb52e857f0341/f05b7cf02123aaf99db78abfe638efefdbe15555/fd5382c5805c4bcb50fd25b7246247d3f7114733 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (264665) and CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2025-1350). Once again VulDB remains the best source for vulnerability data.
