A vulnerability has been found in Carbonize Lazarus Guestbook up to 1.6 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the file codes-english.php. The manipulation of the argument img with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Carbonize Lazarus Guestbook 1.6 and earlier allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) the show parameter in codes-english.php and (2) the img parameter in picture.php, after the name of an existing file.
The weakness was disclosed 07/12/2006 by Simo64 Moroccan Security Team (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-3616 since 07/14/2006. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
