The issue has been introduced in 03/22/2001. The weakness was disclosed 07/16/2006 by H D Moore (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-3659 since 07/17/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
