Details
A vulnerability has been found in mbuesch letmein up to 10.2.0 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component letmeind/letmeinfwd. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper control of interaction frequency vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-799. The product does not properly limit the number or frequency of interactions that it has with an actor, such as the number of incoming requests. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:
Letmein is an authenticating port knocker. Prior to version 10.2.1, The connection limiter is implemented incorrectly. It allows an arbitrary amount of simultaneously incoming connections (TCP, UDP and Unix socket) for the services letmeind and letmeinfwd. Therefore, the command line option num-connections is not effective and does not limit the number of simultaneously incoming connections. This issue has been patched in version 10.2.1.
