Details
A vulnerability was found in AVTECH IP Camera, DVR and NVR. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file adcommand.cgi. The manipulation of the argument strCmd with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
An OS command injection vulnerability exists in AVTECH DVR, NVR, and IP camera devices within the adcommand.cgi endpoint, which interfaces with the ActionD daemon. Authenticated users can invoke the DoShellCmd operation, passing arbitrary input via the strCmd parameter. This input is executed directly by the system shell without sanitation allowing attackers to execute commands as the root user.
