A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Advantech iView (affected version unknown). This affects the function NetworkServlet.processImportRequest. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. A vulnerability exists in Advantech iView in NetworkServlet.processImportRequest() that could allow for a directory traversal attack. This issue requires an authenticated attacker with at least user-level privileges.
