A vulnerability was reported in version 1.0 of the Bluetooth Transmission Alliance protocol adopted by Motorola Smart Connect Android Application that could allow a nearby attacker within the Bluetooth interaction range to intercept files when transferred to a device not paired in Smart Connect.
The weakness was shared by Bai Xingyu, Liu Xiaofeng, Song Xiangpu, Hu Chengyu and Guo Shanqing. The advisory is shared at en-us.support.motorola.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2025-2818 since 03/26/2025. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack can only be initiated within the local network. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
