CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in onnx 1.17.0. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function onnx.external_data_helper.save_external_data. The manipulation of the argument external_data.location with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Path Traversal vulnerability in onnx.external_data_helper.save_external_data in ONNX 1.17.0 allows attackers to overwrite arbitrary files by supplying crafted external_data.location paths containing traversal sequences, bypassing intended directory restrictions.

This vulnerability was named CVE-2025-51480 since 06/16/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1006.
