CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.1.146/6.6.99/6.12.39/6.15.7. Affected is the function sch_qfq. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-416. Referencing memory after it has been freed can cause a program to crash, use unexpected values, or execute code. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: sch_qfq: Fix race condition on qfq_aggregate A race condition can occur when 'agg' is modified in qfq_change_agg (called during qfq_enqueue) while other threads access it concurrently. For example, qfq_dump_class may trigger a NULL dereference, and qfq_delete_class may cause a use-after-free. This patch addresses the issue by: 1. Moved qfq_destroy_class into the critical section. 2. Added sch_tree_lock protection to qfq_dump_class and qfq_dump_class_stats.

The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2025-38477 since 04/16/2025. The exploitability is told to be difficult. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 01/25/2026).

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 261713 (RockyLinux 8 : kernel (RLSA-2025:15008)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.

Upgrading to version 6.1.147, 6.6.100, 6.12.40 or 6.15.8 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 466e10194ab81caa2ee6a332d33ba16bcceeeba6/fbe48f06e64134dfeafa89ad23387f66ebca3527/a6d735100f602c830c16d69fb6d780eebd8c9ae1/c000a3a330d97f6c073ace5aa5faf94b9adb4b79/5e28d5a3f774f118896aec17a3a20a9c5c9dfc64 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (261713) and CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2025-1665). If you want to get best quality of vulnerability data, you may have to visit VulDB.
