Details
A vulnerability was found in Netgear SPH200D up to 1.0.4.80. It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality of the component GET Request Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
A path traversal vulnerability exists in the Netgear SPH200D Skype phone firmware versions <= 1.0.4.80 in its embedded web server. Authenticated attackers can exploit crafted GET requests to access arbitrary files outside the web root by injecting traversal sequences. This can expose sensitive system files and configuration data.
