A vulnerability was found in Grafana Infinity Datasource Plugin up to 3.4.0 and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown code block of the component URL Restriction Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. Grafana is an open-source platform for monitoring and observability. The Infinity datasource plugin, maintained by Grafana Labs, allows visualizing data from JSON, CSV, XML, GraphQL, and HTML endpoints. If the plugin was configured to allow only certain URLs, an attacker could bypass this restriction using a specially crafted URL. This vulnerability is fixed in version 3.4.1.
The weakness was shared by Elad Pticha. It is possible to read the advisory at grafana.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2025-8341 since 07/30/2025. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
Upgrading to version 3.4.1 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at github.com.
