Details
A vulnerability was found in ICT Innovations ICTBroadcast up to 7.4. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the component Session Cookie Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The ICTBroadcast application unsafely passes session cookie data to shell processing, allowing an attacker to inject shell commands into a session cookie that get executed on the server. This results in unauthenticated remote code execution in the session handling. Versions 7.4 and below are known to be vulnerable.
The weakness was released by Valentin Lobstein. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2025-2611 since 03/21/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy.
