A vulnerability has been found in Eaton G4 PDU up to 3.4.x and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the component CLI. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. An attacker with authenticated and privileged access could modify the contents of a non-sensitive file by traversing the path in the limited shell of the CLI. This security issue has been fixed in the latest version which is available on the Eaton download center.
