A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in PHlyMail Lite up to 3.4.4. Affected is an unknown functionality of the file handlers/email/mod.output.php. The manipulation of the argument _PM_[path][handler] with an unknown input leads to a file inclusion vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-73. ** DISPUTED ** PHP remote file inclusion vulnerability in handlers/email/mod.output.php in PHlyMail Lite 3.4.4 and earlier (Build 3.04.04) allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the _PM_[path][handler] parameter, a different vector than CVE-2006-4291. NOTE: This issue has been disputed by a third party, who states that the _IN_PHM_ declaration prevents this file from being called directly.
The weakness was presented 08/18/2006 by D3nGeR as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-4429 since 08/28/2006. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
The real existence of this vulnerability is still doubted at the moment. By approaching the search of inurl:handlers/email/mod.output.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
