Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Cybozu Share 360 up to 6.5. This issue affects an unknown code block. The manipulation of the argument id with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Multiple directory traversal vulnerabilities in Cybozu Office before 6.6 Build 1.3 and Share 360 before 2.5 Build 0.3 allow remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) sequence via the id parameter in (1) scripts/cbag/ag.exe or (2) scripts/s360v2/s360.exe.
The bug was discovered 07/04/2006. The weakness was released 08/28/2006 by Tan Chew Keong (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at jvn.jp. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-4490 since 08/31/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a simple authentication. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1006 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
A public exploit has been developed by Tan Chew Keong and been published even before and not after the advisory. The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as highly functional.
