Details
A vulnerability has been found in sveltejs devalue up to 5.3.1 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function devalue.parse. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a prototype pollution vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-1321. The product receives input from an upstream component that specifies attributes that are to be initialized or updated in an object, but it does not properly control modifications of attributes of the object prototype. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Svelte devalue is a utility library. Prior to version 5.3.2, a string passed to devalue.parse could represent an object with a __proto__ property and devalue.parse does not check that an index is numeric. This could result in assigning prototypes to objects and properties, leading to prototype pollution. This issue has been fixed in version 5.3.2
