A vulnerability has been found in CGM CLININET and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component File Download Handler. The vulnerability consists of a session ID leak when saving a file downloaded from CGM CLININET. The identifier is exposed through a built-in Windows security feature that stores additional metadata in an NTFS alternate data stream (ADS) for all files downloaded from potentially untrusted sources.
The weakness was released by Maciej Kazulak. The advisory is shared for download at cert.pl. This vulnerability was named CVE-2025-30038 since 03/14/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack needs to be initiated within the local network. The exploitation needs additional levels of successful authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
