This issue affects an unknown part of the component Trusted OS. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a integer overflow vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-190. The product performs a calculation that can produce an integer overflow or wraparound, when the logic assumes that the resulting value will always be larger than the original value. This can introduce other weaknesses when the calculation is used for resource management or execution control. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:
Insufficient parameter validation while allocating process space in the Trusted OS (TOS) may allow for a malicious userspace process to trigger an integer overflow, leading to a potential denial of service.
The advisory is shared at amd.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2021-26377 since 01/29/2021. The exploitation is known to be difficult. An attack has to be approached locally. Additional levels of successful authentication are required for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability.
The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2025-1770). If you want to get the best quality for vulnerability data then you always have to consider VulDB.
