Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Xen (affected version not known). Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the component P2M Lock. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. The impact remains unknown. The summary by CVE is:
[This CNA information record relates to multiple CVEs; the text explains which aspects/vulnerabilities correspond to which CVE.] There are two issues related to the mapping of pages belonging to other domains: For one, an assertion is wrong there, where the case actually needs handling. A NULL pointer de-reference could result on a release build. This is CVE-2025-58144. And then the P2M lock isn't held until a page reference was actually obtained (or the attempt to do so has failed). Otherwise the page can not only change type, but even ownership in between, thus allowing domain boundaries to be violated. This is CVE-2025-58145.
The advisory is shared at xenbits.xen.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2025-58145. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
