Directory traversal vulnerability in footer.php in David Bennett PHP-Post (PHPp) 1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read and include arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) sequence in the template parameter. NOTE: this was later reported to affect 1.0.1, and demonstrated for code execution by uploading and accessing an avatar file.

The weakness was published 09/16/2006 by HACKERS PAL (Kacper) (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-4878 since 09/19/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
