Details
A vulnerability was found in CA eTrust Security Command Center 1.0 and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function getadhochtml of the component Audit. The manipulation of the argument eSCCAdHocHtmlFile with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in Computer Associates (CA) eTrust Security Command Center 1.0 and r8 up to SP1 CR2, allows remote authenticated users to read and delete arbitrary files via ".." sequences in the eSCCAdHocHtmlFile parameter to eSMPAuditServlet, which is not properly handled by the getadhochtml function.
