A vulnerability has been found in Neosys Neon WebMail up to 5.7 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block. Neon WebMail for Java before 5.08 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary Java (JSP) code by sending an e-mail message with a JSP file attachment, which is stored under the web root with a predictable filename.
The weakness was disclosed 09/23/2006 by Tan Chew Keong (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-4951 since 09/22/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
