Details
A vulnerability was found in BMC Control-M and Agent 9.0.18/9.0.19/9.0.20 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the component Network Traffic Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a hard-coded key vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-321. The use of a hard-coded cryptographic key significantly increases the possibility that encrypted data may be recovered. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Out-of-support Control-M/Agent versions 9.0.18 to 9.0.20 (and potentially earlier unsupported versions) that are configured to use the non-default Blowfish cryptography algorithm use a hardcoded key. An attacker with access to network traffic and to this key could decrypt network traffic between the Control-M/Agent and Server.
The advisory is available at bmcapps.my.site.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2025-55112 since 08/07/2025. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
