A vulnerability was found in DataTables up to 1.10.13. It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the file /examples/resources/examples.php. The manipulation of the argument src with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality.

The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
