Details
A vulnerability was found in Vasion Print Virtual Appliance Host and Print Application (affected version unknown). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown functionality of the component TLS Certificate Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a hard-coded key vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-321. The use of a hard-coded cryptographic key significantly increases the possibility that encrypted data may be recovered. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic) Virtual Appliance Host prior to version 22.0.1049 and Application prior to version 20.0.2786 (VA and SaaS deployments) contain a private SSL key and matching public certificate stored in cleartext. The key belongs to the hostname `pl‑local.com` and is used by the appliance to terminate TLS connections on ports 80/443. Because the key is hardcoded, any attacker who can gain container-level access can simply read the files and obtain the private key. With the private key, the attacker can decrypt TLS traffic, perform man-in-the-middle attacks, or forge TLS certificates. This enables impersonation of the appliance’s web UI, interception of credentials, and unrestricted access to any services that trust the certificate. The same key is identical across all deployed appliances meaning a single theft compromises the confidentiality of every Vasion Print installation.
The weakness was published by Pierre Barre. It is possible to read the advisory at pierrekim.github.io. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2025-34211 since 04/15/2025. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploitation requires an enhanced level of successful authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1600.001 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability.
