A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.1.1. This issue affects the function ppr_notifier. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a reference count vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-911. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/amd: Fix pci device refcount leak in ppr_notifier() As comment of pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot() says, it returns a pci device with refcount increment, when finish using it, the caller must decrement the reference count by calling pci_dev_put(). So call it before returning from ppr_notifier() to avoid refcount leak.

The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
