A vulnerability was found in Newforma Project Center up to 2023.1 and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown function of the file /UserWeb/Common/MarkupServices.ashx of the component NIX Service. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a authentication replay vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-294. A capture-replay flaw exists when the design of the product makes it possible for a malicious user to sniff network traffic and bypass authentication by replaying it to the server in question to the same effect as the original message (or with minor changes). Newforma Info Exchange (NIX) '/UserWeb/Common/MarkupServices.ashx' allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause NIX to make an SMB connection to an attacker-controlled system. The attacker can capture the NTLMv2 hash of the customer-configured NIX service account.
