Details
A vulnerability was found in Tomofun Furbo 360 and Furbo Mini (Firmware Software) (affected version not known). It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the component GATT Service. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a access control vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-284. The product does not restrict or incorrectly restricts access to a resource from an unauthorized actor. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The bug was discovered 05/15/2025. The weakness was disclosed by Calvin Star, Julian B (skelet4r and dead1nfluence) with Software Secured. The advisory is shared at github.com. There is no access control in place to prevent an unauthorized user from connecting to the Furbo device over BLE and interacting with the exposed GATT Characteristics. An attacker within BLE range of a Furbo device can connect to the device without requiring any form of authorization or bonding. Once connected over BLE an attacker can read device information that is exposed via various GATT Characteristics as well as write data to a specific characteristics. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2025-11646. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can only be initiated within the local network. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by Julian B (dead1nfluence) in Python. It is possible to download the exploit at github.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 149 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around . The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. The firmware versions determined to be affected are Furbo 360 up to FB0035_FW_036 and Furbo Mini up to MC0020_FW_074. Replication Steps: 1. Acquire a Bluetooth Low Energy adapter (e.g., Nordic nRF52840). 2. Install necessary dependencies (e.g., bleak, bluepy) 3. Write a simple Python script to use the BLE Adapter to connect to other devices 4. Ensure the attacker device is within BLE range of the target Furbo Mini. 5. Run the Python script and connect to the discovered Furbo BLE device. 6. Observe the exposed GATT Characterstics
