Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in AutomationDirect Productivity Suite, Productivity 3000 P3-622 CPU, Productivity 3000 P3-550E CPU, Productivity 3000 P3-530 CPU, Productivity 2000 P2-622 CPU, Productivity 2000 P2-550 CPU, Productivity 1000 P1-550 CPU and Productivity 1000 P1-540 CPU up to 4.2.1.9. Affected is some unknown processing. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-23. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that should be within a restricted directory, but it does not properly neutralize sequences such as ".." that can resolve to a location that is outside of that directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A relative path traversal (ZipSlip) vulnerability was discovered in Productivity Suite software version 4.4.1.19. The vulnerability allows an attacker who can tamper with a productivity project to execute arbitrary code on the machine where the project is opened.
The weakness was released by Luca Borzacchiello as icsa-25-296-01. The advisory is available at cisa.gov. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2025-62498 since 10/21/2025. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation needs additional levels of successful authentication.
